Gospel music pioneer Thomas A. Dorsey born

Thomas A. Dorsey who is regarded by many as "the father of gospel music" born in Villa Rica, GA, 1899.

He is most well known for composing "Take My Hand, Precious Lord", was performed by Mahalia Jackson and was a favorite of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
