Roger Troutman, the lead singer for the band Zapp born in Hamilton, Ohio. He is known for his use of the vocoder and the talkbox a style which can be heard on Zapp's signature track "I Wanna Be your Man" and Tupac Shakur's "California Love".
He was shot dead by his brother during a dispute on April 25th, 1999.
