First African American Pitcher to Win a World Series Game

Joe Black became the first black pitcher to win a World Series game. Black pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1952 World Series and helping his team to defeat the New York Yankees 4-2.

Black was also the 1952 Rookie of the Year.
