Academy Award wining actor Forest Whitaker born

Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy winning actor, producer, and director Forest Steven Whitaker born in Longview, Texas. He has played important roles in films such as "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," "Good Morning, Vietnam" and "Platoon."

It was his role as Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland" which earned him the 2007 Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
