Jazz drummer Arthur "Art" Blakey born

Jazz drummer Arthur "Art" Blakey born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was one of the inventors of the modern bebop style of drumming. He recorded and performed with many jazz greats including Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and Clifford Brown.
